The Ohio Civil Rights Commission is established under O.R.C. Chapter 4112, Ohio's civil rights and fair housing law. The chapter prohibits discrimination in employment, housing, public accommodations, and credit on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, military status, national origin, disability, age, ancestry, or familial status, and empowers the Commission to investigate and resolve complaints. Its core prohibition on unlawful discriminatory practices — including in housing — is set out in O.R.C. § 4112.02.
